President Trump Goes All Out for First State Visit, Will Welcome Emmanuel Macron

President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are excited to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and Mrs. Brigitte Macron for the Trump Administration’s first official State Visit. “Monday evening, the two couples will depart the White House on the presidential helicopter Marine One, for a scenic tour of historic monuments in Washington, ending at Mount Vernon — the iconic home of America’s first president, George Washington,” S. A. Miller reports.

------------ The Chicago Tribune Editorial Board writes that the Senate should confirm CIA Director Mike Pompeo to be our next Secretary of State. The editors explain that Director Pompeo “knows well how to work with both Congress and the president — who trusts him so much he sent him on a secret mission to Pyongyang to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.”

In Fox News, David Bossie writes that “the effort by Senate Democrats to block CIA Director Mike Pompeo from being confirmed as secretary of state is just [their] latest political stunt.” Bossie says that we live in serious times, and Americans are paying attention. “It’s time to confirm Mike Pompeo – with a simple majority if necessary.”
