President Donald Trump Will Protect American Farmers from China’s Trade Retaliation: Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue 

“President Donald Trump is standing up to China, which wrongly believes it can bully our farmers to get America to back away from defending our national interests,” Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue writes in an op-ed for USA Today. “He will not allow U.S. agriculture to bear the brunt of China’s retaliatory tactics.”  Click here to read more.

The Washington Examiner Editorial Board writes that the open border ideology of Democrats and left-wing commentators “is as dangerous as it is unpopular.” The editors explain that “theoretically, we could give up on borders, as some seem to want. But that would mean giving up on having a democratic society.”

A new economic survey from CNBC shows that more than half the American public approves of President Trump’s handling of the economy, Steve Liesman reports for CNBC. “The president’s economic approval rating surged 6 points to 51 percent with just 36 percent of the public disapproving, a 6 point drop from the March Survey.”

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Editorial Board writes that President Trump “is forcing a re-examination of America’s trade policies, and making other countries consider the consequences of the trade war they have long waged upon us.” The editors remind readers that “America has been reflexively globalist and anti-protectionist for a long time now, and it has not worked.
